Are you struggling to find a work/life balance?

How you can take back the reins!

Does your business dominate your life?

Are you finding it hard to strike a balance?

If you’ve answered “yes” you’re certainly not alone.  The struggle to find a balance between work and home is ever present with most business owners.  There just never seems to be enough time to spend working in your business as well as spending that equally vital time to relax.

Your business life and your personal life - They are not two separate things, merely components of your whole life. If these two things continually challenge eachother, your struggle will be constant and exhausting. What's going to make the difference is how you integrate the work part of your life.

For many people time is as precious, and sometimes seems as scarce, as money.  Time to relax, spend time with family, read a book or do something merely because it’s fun ... because you enjoy doing it.

Do you have a business, or does your business have you?

Ask yourself this:

  • Do you spend more time working IN your business than working ON it?
  • Do you often end up doing the admin at night or during weekends?
  • Can your business keep running successfully when you’re away?
  • Does your business get in the way of spending time with your family and doing the things you love to do?
  • Do you work for you business .. or does your business work for you?

If you’ve answered yes to any these (and particularly if you’ve answered yes to ALL of them) then  it might be time to consider getting hold of the reins on your business and getting it under control before it runs you off into the sunset!

There’s a whole heap of resources out there that can ease your struggle.

The funny thing is, when you begin to achieve the balance and place some distance between yourself and your business,  you’ll discover some surprising benefits.  Not only will these benefits make a big difference in your personal life, they’ll make a big difference in your work life too!  At the very least you’ll have greater clarity and objectivity, a fresh approach and a healthy injection of energy.  And who knows ….  you might even become more pleasant to live with!

So don’t run the risk of becoming stale, exhausted and stressed out.  There are ways you can avoid this and structures and systems you can put in place so that you get to “own’ your business   ….. and it doesn’t “own’ you!

We have more information about this topic, or on how to get expert assistance to help get your business back into line so it's not ruling your life!

To make sure you maintain the balance and get the things done you want to do as well as need to do, you might also want to do some Directional Planning. This is an important ingredient if you want to ensure you have a life with everything included, and nothing left out!
